How to Handle Student House Cleaning in Canary Wharf Before Moving

Cleaning Your Student Home at the End of a Tenancy

Student houses are the very centre of hard work and fun. It is important to ensure the property you lived in Canary Wharf is clean and undamaged when vacated so that, firstly, the deposit is returned, but also so that a good reference is obtained for future lettings/situations.

1) First Things First

Clean all interior windows – take special effort to ensure that the windows in the property in Canary Wharf, E14 are completely clean. This allows in plenty of light and makes the room look bigger and cleaner. Use mild dishwashing detergent and water mix and two tea towels; apply the cleaning mixture with one and dry with the other. This will result in a sparkling window every time. Wipe over all surfaces in the house using a disinfectant or sanitizing spray and a kitchen towel. This is a cheap and effective way to remove both dirt and odours from surfaces.

2) Fridge

Make sure that the fridge is emptied. Using a mild dishwashing detergent and warm water, wipe out all surfaces in the fridge and wipe over again with a dry tea towel. When complete, leave the fridge door slightly ajar and unplug/switch off the device. This ensures that it does not smell whilst nobody is there.

3) The Rest of the Kitchen

Clean out the microwave – put a bowl of hot water into the microwave, add some lemon slices if you have them to improve the smell. Heat the water for a few minutes, then remove the bowl but be careful – it will be hot. Wipe the inside of the microwave with a soft damp cloth, all the residue should come off, if not, repeat the water heating process again. Wipe over the cooker and hob – even if regularly cleaned the hob attracts dust, so wipe it over well. Oven cleaning in E1 can be time consuming and a lot of work. The easiest way is to use a proper oven cleaning solution and follow its guidelines; there are no shortcuts for this. Wash up any pots, pans or kitchen equipment you have been provided with that haven’t already been cleaned.

4) The Rest of the House

Wipe down all mirrors using a soft cloth and a bowl of hot soapy water. Buff dry with a tea towel and the mirrors will sparkle. Clean the bathroom in the property in Canary Wharf. Neat white vinegar is a cheap and very effective limescale remover. This can be used on shower glass and tiles. After using vinegar in the bathroom make sure that the whole area is then scrubbed with soapy hot water including the shower, toilet, sinks and all tiled areas to remove all traces. Vacuum all carpeted areas including stairs and doormats. It is good to vacuum off the curtains and sofas also as these can attract dust; it will also hopefully prevent the need for a professional sofa cleaning process. To make the vacuum cleaner smell nice and to leave a nice fragrance in each room you have been in, put some lavender flowers in the hoover bag or into the bagless compartment – all air passing through the vacuum will now smell of lavender and scent the room for you without you needing to purchase air fresheners. Mop any hard or linoleum floors – used an all-purpose cleaner and change the water frequently for the best results. It is far better to do this as your last job otherwise you will find you end up doing it more than once as people make it dirty again. Lastly, empty all bins and place all refuse into the outside bins provided.

5) Cleaning Services

There are many E14 based professional cleaners who can do this for you, usually with varying prices and results. It does not take long and you do not need fancy cleaning products to do this yourself to ensure your deposit is returned intact and your references are good.
