How to Clean Floors Efficiently with a Steam Mop

Cleaning using a steam mop is a brilliant way to make your flooring in Belsize Park look sparkling clean and almost as good as new. It’s a really quick and efficient method of cleaning. As well as being innovative, steam mops are environmentally friendly, so you can clean with a clear conscience! The surfaces that benefit from steam mop cleaning are hard floors like wood, ceramic, stone, marble, tiles and laminated finishes. You might question how much faster and easier using a steam mop is compared to the old fashioned mop and bucket method, but a steam mop really tackles grease as well as dirt and produces a shiny finish, making cleaning your flooring a less common chore. If you’re a first time user, ensure you read up the rules and instructions. Here’s a rough guide to using a steam mop:

Make sure the floor area you are planning to clean in your home in Belsize Park, NW3 is clear. You don’t have to pre-brush and dust but it can speed up the process. Move any chairs out of the way by pushing to one side of the room or placing (carefully) on of a tabletop.

•    Before you attach the cleaning pad it is really vital you check that your steam mop is unplugged beforehand. You have to be extra careful when using a steam mop, as not only is it an electrical appliance, it does get very hot. Once you have attached the cleaning pad you can add water to the reservoir function.

•    Once your steam mop is fully prepared, plug it in, turn it on (if applicable) and wait for the indicator light to turn on – this means it is ready to use.

•    As you would with standard mopping, start with the furthest corner of the floor and very gently push the mop forward to release steam and then back to pick up the dirt and grease onto the cleaning pad.

•    The steam dries very fast, so ensure you wait a few moments before you move onto the next surface area.

•    Once you have worked over the surfaces that need cleaning, turn the appliance off (again, if applicable) and unplug it. Ensure you leave your steam mop to fully cool down before you change the pad or empty out the water from the reservoir function.

•    When cleaning your steam mop, ensure again it is fully switched off and unplugged.

•    Soak the wash pads to keep them clean for further use, warm, soapy water will do the trick.

•    Clean the reservoir function with a damp cloth and wipe the interior and exterior of your steam mop to keep it looking it’s best.

•    You can also wipe the mop area of the steamer with a damp cloth to clean it.

•    Once completed and air-dried off, reattach the reservoir.

•    Make sure you store your steam mop appliance up right at all times and in a dry storage area such as a cupboard.

As you can see, there are lots of tricks and tips for using a steam mop. Once you get used to using and cleaning your appliance in your home in Belsize Park, you will find a better ease of use and cleaning with it a speedy process. Remember, although it might seem a little complicated at first, steam mopping produces much better results compared to ordinary mopping so this will cut down cleaning time by at least half. Happy steam mopping!
